Sometimes, the right person feels familiar from the very beginning. For Adedeji and Grace, what started as a simple conversation quickly became something much deeper.
How It All Began
Adedeji and Grace met on Hinge on the 16th of May 2025. Neither of them expected much at first, but from their very first conversation, something just clicked. There was an ease between them that felt natural and hard to explain.
“We shared the same values and wanted the same things in life,” Adedeji says. “It just clicked from there.”
As they got to know each other, they realised their connection went beyond surface level chemistry. They both wanted the same future, to build a home, create a strong family foundation, and keep God at the centre of it all.
“From the first conversation, it felt special,” he remembers. “It honestly felt like I had known her for years.”
The Proposal
When Adedeji decided to propose, he wanted it to feel personal to their story. On the 25th of April, he recreated their very first date and chose a beautiful Airbnb as the setting for the moment.
To make it even more meaningful, someone very important in Grace’s life was there to witness it.
“It was amazing,” Adedeji says. “One of the best days of our lives. It felt really special.”
The proposal was simple, emotional, and true to them. Nothing over the top, just a moment that felt right.
The Ring
Grace had always known exactly what she wanted, a pear-shaped diamond. Nothing else.
So the choice was clear from the beginning. Adedeji didn’t need to overthink it. The shape suited her perfectly, simple, timeless, and elegant.
There were no extra design elements added. The pear shape itself was enough, because it was exactly what she had always imagined.
Seeing the Ring for the First Time
Adedeji admits he was nervous ordering online. He wasn’t sure how it would turn out or if the size would be right.
But when it arrived, those worries disappeared straight away.
“It blew my mind,” he says. “And it fit perfectly too.”
For Grace, the ring became more than jewellery. It felt like a promise of everything they were building together.
“It is a token of my irrevocable commitment to her,” Adedeji says. “And she absolutely loves and cherishes it.”
LOOKING AHEAD
For Adedeji and Grace, the future feels simple and certain. They plan to build a home together, raise a family, and keep faith at the centre of everything they do.
When asked for advice for other couples, Adedeji doesn’t hesitate: “Her choice should always come first.”
