RUBY OVERVIEW
The rich red colour of the ruby comes from traces of chromium in a variation of the corundum mineral. It is the most valuable corundum mineral; another gemstone in this family includes the Sapphire. The gemstone has been valued for generations and is known as the 'king of precious stones' in ancient Sanskrit.
